 Meals & Clients

  • Delivered 50,937 meals
  • Served 445 clients
  • No days of service missed due to bad weather

Kitchen

  • Began our relationship with Shiny C Farms who delivered almost 100 lbs. of organic produce
  • Began relationship with Upward Harvest to begin receiving free-range eggs sometime this year (2017)
  • Had an average of 377 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables delivered EACH month
  • Fed Leadership Edmond with Food from Urban Agrarian to showcase where we’re heading with our food in the future
  • Cookbooks were revamped and we’ve sold 52
  • Cookie Exchange was another hit and we had almost 2 dozen varieties of cookies from our volunteers
  • UCO began regular days in the kitchen. 3rd and 4th Wednesdays
  • Volunteers- gained 5 new regular kitchen volunteers this year
  • City of Edmond installed alarms on our Freezer & Cooler

Staff & Board

  • Cristi Twenter hired as Executive Director
  • Terri Horton hired as Assistant Director
  • Toni Washington promoted to Chef/Director of Food Services
  • Welcomed new Board Members: Adrienne Nobles, Jay Corwin, and Darrel Sears

Volunteers

  • Volunteers Served over 13,000 Hours
  • Around 30 new permanent volunteers
  • Formed partnership with Edmond Fire Department as 5th Friday cooks
  • Continued partnership with UCO President’s Leadership class in kitchen

Events & Community Engagement

  • Selected as the First Non-Profit Partner for Heard on Hurd
  • 2ND Annual Chili Cook-off during "March for Meals"
  • Created new event: Denim Friday 
  • Community Champions Week – Meals delivered by Edmond Fire Department, Police Department, Chick-Fil-A, UCO/OC Presidents
  • Participated in the UCO Sandwich Generation Conference
  • Renewed Life.Church Mission Partnership for 2017
  • Selected as UCO Homecoming Philanthropy Recipient 
  • 4th Annual EdFest was biggest ever
  • Participated in the Meals on Wheels Ad Council Campaign “America, Let’s Do Lunch” National Campaign
  • Partnered with Oklahoma Christian School students
  • Partnered with Leadership Edmond members
  • Partnered with AmeriPride Company
  • Received Samaritan Award from St. John’s
  • 2nd Year of Little Chefs summer program. All Sessions completely full with a waiting list!
  • Selected by Pie Junkie as “Pie it Forward” recipient
  • Recipient of Gift Cards from St. John’s Giving Tree
  • Selected by Hurt’s Donuts for fundraiser at Best of Books
