MiguelMiguel Gonzalez is our volunteer of the month for December! Miguel volunteers in many ways but is the treasurer of EMM's Board of Directors. He has gotten is place of employment, Citizens Bank, involved in many projects at EMM and has been such a great advocate for our organization. Thank you Miguel!

Q: What initially interested you in Mobile Meals?
A: I first heard of Edmond Mobile Meals from Sheree Lambert. She explained to me the history and purpose of the organization and I was amazed that such an organization that prepared and delivered hot meals to the homebound was operating in our community. At this point I had never heard of a meals on wheel program, but I knew I would love to somehow be involved.

Q: What do you enjoy most about serving with our organization?
A: I enjoy witnessing how motivated the staff and volunteers are. The fact that so many members of the community come together and volunteer every day to prepare the hot meals and others to deliver the meals is truly inspiring!

Q: If you were stranded on an island and could only bring three things with you, what would they be?
A: I would bring a picture of my family, my fur-child Luna, and my cell phone – I mean it is almost 2016, so you would think stranded islands have Wi-Fi, right?

Q: Why do you think it's important to serve the community you live in?
A: I believe it is important to serve your community and neighbors because it is the right thing to do. At some point we may all need help and if we all act selflessly, I believe we can all enhance the bonds of the community.
