Edmond Mobile Meals Spotlight

Kathy Morrison, EMM Volunteer

Kathy takes on any task she is given and completes it with a smile! We love working with Kathy and are so thrilled to introduce her as our July volunteer of the month!

Kathy MorrisonQ: How did you find out about Edmond Mobile Meals?
I heard about Edmond Mobile Meals from a friend who volunteered as a driver.

Q: What do you enjoy most about serving with our organization?
I am very impressed with the professionalism and compassion I see from Cristi, Piper and Toni. I arrived one morning and found a new set of bed sheets. Cristi and Piper had visited with a new client and found out she slept on an uncovered mattress. Piper had purchased the sheets and asked me to deliver them along with the meal.

Q: What is your favorite meal to make for your family?
Anything Italian!

Q: If you were stranded on an island and could only bring three things with you, what would they be?
My husband, he's my best friend. Matches, if I'm being practical and an endless supply of chocolate and almond candy bars!

Q: Have there been any funny stories while you were working in the kitchen or out delivering meals?
I had a 70 year old client flash me her bra one day! She answered the door buttoning up her blouse. I jokingly told her she didn't have to get dressed up for me. Her face lit up and she said OK, and then flashed me! I laughed all day just thinking about it.

Q: Why do you think it is important to serve the community you live in?
As a person that believes in God, I believe service to others is very important. I also believe we all have times in our life when we will have to ask others for help. I hope Edmond Mobile Meals will be there for me if I ever need them!
