Volunteer of the Month: Lee Mullican

Lee MullicanQ: What initially interested you in Edmond Mobile Meals?
A friend of mine at church told me about how much he enjoyed delivering meals and invited me to ride with him one day.  Later, he told me volunteers were always needed.  I liked what I saw and knew that I could help out at least one day a month.  That was over 20 years ago and now I drive 5 to 6 times a month on two routes.

Q: What do you enjoy most about serving with our organization?
A: I enjoy seeing the smiles on all the clients’ faces and I especially enjoy working with Piper, Cristi, and Toni.

Q:  If you were stranded on an island and could only bring 3 things with you, what would they be?
A: I would bring at least two good books …the Bible and a long historical novel.  I would also bring a good pair of walking shoes to explore the island.

Q: Why do you think it’s important to serve the community you live in?
I believe as good citizens, we must always want to give back to the community we live in because over time, we will ultimately be rewarded in so many more ways than we’ll ever be able to repay.
