50th Anniversary

Dear Friends,

I feel incredibly honored to be leading Edmond Mobile Meals at this point in time. I am constantly awed by the generosity of this wonderful community. In a time when so many things divide us, it is inspiring to see there are caring people who step forward to offer their assistance to those who need a little help. It brings me hope to see this happening day in and day out in Edmond; whether it is it the form of volunteering to deliver meals, making a financial contribution to help fill the gaps for struggling families, or just making a phone call to remind someone that they are seen and loved.

As we reflect on 50 years of meal service to homebound residents in Edmond, I am so full of gratitude for the thousands of people who have played a role in helping build this organization to what it is today.
It takes all of us to take care of the most vulnerable in our community. Our staff, board of directors, donors, grantors, community partners, and hundreds of volunteers are united in our passion to make sure Edmond’s seniors do not suffer from food insecurity and loneliness. Our work is more important now than it has ever been.

The aging population is surging and will continue to rise for the next two decades. I am determined to make sure that Edmond Mobile Meals is sustainable and prepared to meet the needs of Edmond’s seniors, now and in the future.

As we complete a major kitchen expansion and building renovation, we know we will have the capacity to serve triple the number of seniors we currently serve. As our endowment fund nears our $1 million goal, we know that a stable and permanent source of income will always be available. As our staff grows, we know that we can continue to expand programming to address the ever-growing needs of Edmond’s aging residents who wish to remain living independently in their homes.

Together, we will continue the legacy!
