Meet Board Member Arlene Chambers

Q: How did you initially get involved with Edmond Mobile Meals?
A: Initially I was suggested by a friend to come volunteer as a board member for Edmond mobile Meals.
Q: How long have you served on the Board of Directors?
A: This is my fifth year (I think) on the board. Time sure does fly by when you are happy and serving a wonderful organization!
Q: What is it about the EMM mission that is meaningful to you?
A: The mission of EMM’s clear. Serving our senior homebound community is important and will always be a need.
Q: What is your favorite thing about serving on the Board of Directors at EMM?
A: Watching the board members and staff come together to raise money and find new ways to feed our seniors is great. Ideas flow from a variety of backgrounds including homemakers, chefs, lawyers, accountants, teachers, bankers, healthcare workers, and businessmen and more.
Q: Why do you believe it is important to serve others in your community?
A: Serving others within my own community gives me hope for the future. Volunteers range from Littles to elders in their 90’s working together to care, feed, and pay a wellness check on our clients. You can go to www.EdmondMobileMeals.org to sign up and volunteer!
Q: Anything else you’d like to add.
A: The Chef, staff, and volunteers of EMM are awesome! We hope that our clients feel loved and well fed! Delicious and nutritious meals are often commented on and please know that it is appreciated! Stay cool this hot summer and keep on keeping on.
