Mask Policy Update

Effective June 1, 2021 in accordance with the updated CDC guidelines, fully vaccinated individuals will no longer be required to wear masks while working or volunteering with Edmond Mobile Meals. Non-vaccinated individuals and individuals who have not completed the full vaccination schedule will still need to wear masks. Those who wish to continue to wear masks are welcome to do so for as long as they wish.
Fully vaccinated volunteers delivering meals to clients will be asked to use their best judgment on wearing masks based on each, individual delivery situation. If there is a need to enter a residence or come in close contact with clients for an extended amount of time, masks are recommended.
Should the CDC guidelines change, we will update this policy as needed. For any questions, please contact Cristi Twenter, Executive Director, at cristi@edmondmobilemeals.org.

Volunteers Needed!

Are you looking for a way to give back to our community? We are looking for volunteers! Volunteering is a lot of fun and great for your own health. It helps minimize stress, gives a sense of belonging and personal connections. Our volunteers may be the only person a homebound senior sees each day.
We need volunteers to help prepare meals and volunteers to deliver them, especially on Fridays!
Meal Preparation Volunteers: Assist our Chef in preparing and packaging meals between 8am-11am, Monday – Friday. NO cooking experience needed!
Meal Delivery Volunteers: Deliver a route of meals to homebound seniors. Drivers pick up meals between 10:30am-11am, Monday – Friday. Delivery typically takes between 1-1.5 hours.
To volunteer, just complete the volunteer application and background check online and we will get you scheduled.

JUST FEED ONE

We know it is overwhelming to think about helping us feed over 200 homebound seniors each weekday, but what if you can help us feed just one?
Edmond Mobile Meals monthly giving program allows you to automatically donate each month with Anedot or Paypal. A monthly gift of:
• $5 feeds one senior with a meal
• $25 provides a week of meals for a senior
• $100 feeds a homebound senior for an entire month
Seniors in Oklahoma are among the most food insecure in the nation, ranking in the top 10 of senior malnutrition and food insecurity. We are the lifeline for those who are unsure of where their next meal will come from and those on fixed incomes who must make the difficult financial choices about whether to buy food, medicine, or other necessities of life. Edmond Mobile Meals makes sure no senior in Edmond goes hungry, regardless of their ability to pay for our service.
One entire year of our services costs less than 1 day in the hospital or 10 days in a nursing home. Your monthly gift will go directly to feeding homebound seniors and allowing them to remain living independently in their own homes for as long as possible.

Just Feed One

The Just Feed One initiative is based on a quote from Mother Teresa that says “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”

We know it is overwhelming to think about helping us feed over 200 people each day. Perhaps you can give monthly to cover the cost of just one client’s meals.
